The Lead Uppercut

To work on the effectiveness of your lead uppercut, work on the following points:

  • Punching arm elbow at a 90 deg angle
  • Land the punch with index and middle knuckles
  • Punching arm comes up to shoulder height
  • Pivot your lead foot, heel off the ground
  • Keep your chin tucked to protect from an attack
  • Shift your weight slightly backwards
  • Keep your rear foot fully grounded
