The Rear Hook

To work on the effectiveness of your rear hook, work on the following points:

  • Keep your eyes on your target
  • Non-punching hand by your cheek, protecting your face
  • Non-punching arm/elbow protecting ribs
  • Lower body 50/50 weight distribution
  • Lead arm fully extended
  • Fist rotated to land with knuckles
  • Fist clenched/arm engaged on contact
  • Core engaged
  • Hip rotation
  • Front foot, slight pivot
